Children categorize the picture cards. Cues from the horizontal and vertical axes of the raster map show a pattern. Children distinguish the logical progression of images with classifications such as "nearest, nearest, farthest and farthest away; lowest, lowest, highest and highest".
A variety of descriptions can be applied to each, so children can expand their vocabulary through teamwork.
