Challenge children to make gestures while talking, so that they're occupied not only auditorily, but also visually and motorically. As a result, new concepts are registered in the brain in more ways than one.
All gestures come from Dutch sign language. Sign languages are not international, but the animals' gestures are highly recognizable worldwide and share many similarities.
